First Year, Transfer, and Graduate Students

SUNY Cortland admits international students at all of these levels. In most cases, students will need the equivalent of a strong “B” average during their secondary school experience if applying as a freshman. Transfers will need to have the same average during their college experience. More detailed information can be found on the International Admissions web page.

Graduate student applications are reviewed by each academic department and the admission standards vary from program to program. Information concerning those standards can be found here: Graduate Admissions Criteria

Financial Aid

No

However, SUNY Cortland does offer all accepted undergraduate students an International Student Award totaling $7,500 per year. The award is applied toward tuition and reduces annual tuition from $17,180 to $9,680. The same award is given to graduate students, but the amount will vary depending upon the number of credits a student is taking and whether or not a student is receiving a Graduate Assistant Position.
