English as a Second Language Program and Services

Does your institution have an Intensive English Program?

Can your institution issue an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 Student Status to a student who has been admitted only to the Intensive English Program?
Yes, The English Language Institute (ELI) at Pace University offers students, visitors, and immigrants the opportunity to improve their English skills for academic study, career advancement, or personal enrichment through a variety of programs. ELI instructors are experienced, dedicated to their students, and have master’s degrees. As an ELI student at Pace, you will have access to all University facilities, including libraries, computer labs, cafeterias, sports centers, medical and counseling services, and the International Students Office.

Does your institution provide courses of English as a Second Language to admitted students?

Does your institution conditionally admit students to degree programs if they have not met the English proficiency requirement?

The Pace Global Pathways Program is an excellent opportunity for international students to attend Pace but who do not yet meet the English language proficiency requirements for direct admission to one of our undergraduate degree programs. The Pathways Program consists of 1 – 3 terms (the equivalent of a 4, 8, or 12-month course) depending upon your English-language proficiency entrance score.

Students who enter the program receive college-level English-language instruction with specialized academic coursework in your field of study – all taught by Pace University professors.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will progress into a Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Arts and Sciences, or Computer Science and Information Systems with up to 17 credits towards your degree!

Student Activities and Campus Life

Our students do more than study. Pace is home to more than 149 clubs and organizations and hosts numerous university-wide events. With the New York metropolitan area as your campus, Pace gives you room to grow outside the classroom.

The friendships and connections students establish while studying at Pace are just as important as their coursework and internships. We push students to work toward greatness, and part of that includes having fun and getting involved with their peers. Whether it’s attending a taping of Inside the Actors Studio at the Schimmel Center for the Arts on our New York Campus, or cheering on one of our 14 NCAA Division II sports teams in Westchester, Pace provides activities and events to meet every student’s interests.
