Broome Community College has a long history and strong commitment to international education with over 30 years of experience in helping international students achieve their educational and career goals. Our small classroom settings allow students personal attention from faculty. Our diverse faculty members use the latest technology and instructional methods in their classrooms. We offer university-parallel degree programs specifically designed to fulfill the first two years of university study in the United States. International students can transfer after completing their Associate Degree at BCC and earn a Bachelor’s Degree in only two additional years of study. International students also choose Broome Community College because of our affordable tuition and living expenses. When you compare our tuition to the high tuition and expenses at other U.S. colleges and universities, you will see that BCC offers a quality education at a reasonable cost. Broome Community college offers 55 degree and certificate programs in Liberal Arts, Business & Public Services, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (S.T.E.M.). We also offer full time English As A Second Language (ESL) coursework for students need to improve their English language proficiency. ESL courses are specifically designed to prepare students for university-level study and focus on building English language proficiency in the areas of grammar/composition, speech, listening, and reading. At BCC, international students are accepted directly into a degree program and enroll in the appropriate ESL course level based on their English language proficiency.

We do NOT require TOEFL but instead only 4 years of English studies as we offer three semesters of full time English As A Second Languages coursework as well as additional English classes for non native speakers.

Off-campus housing is readily available in the local community. Apartment rates are very affordable when compared to major U.S. cities. The International Student Services Office will assist you with your housing needs. The college campus is easily accessible by bus from points throughout the Binghamton area.

Student Activities and Campus Life
Many international students join our International Student Organization (ISO). This student group plans a variety of cultural activities on campus and sponsors travel activities for international students. Trips planned recently by ISO have included New York City, Washington, D.C., and Virginia Beach. We have many other clubs and activities that our students can participate in such as Academic Clubs, Student Government, Athletic teams, Lingonet Conversation Club and many more.
