Event Overview

For the fourth year in a row, Study New York participated in the U.S. Commercial Service Global Education Team’s “USA: A Study Destination,” the official U.S. pavilion at NAFSA 2019. The NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference and Expo was held at the Washington DC Convention Center from May 27-31, and was attended by over 10,000 educators from the United States and overseas engaged in international education services.

Study New York exhibited at the USA: A Study Destination Pavilion during the NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference, alongside 11 other Study State Consortia, including: California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

The Global Education Team scheduled over 450 Educator-Educator (E2E) meetings and Showtime appointments throughout the program. The E2E program included prescheduled meetings with the Study State Consortia and foreign partners to discuss potential partnership opportunities.

The Showtime appointments were scheduled with CS Education Trade Specialists from 11 countries (China – Guangzhou/Shenyang, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal,  Russia, and UAE) to discuss best prospects and market entry strategies.

On May 28th, the Global Education Team with members from the Domestic and International Fields, as well as Industry & Analysis hosted an Embassy Circle program at the National Academy of Sciences. The first ever event provided an opportunity for study consortia and US institutions to connect directly with Diplomatic officials from a variety markets (Colombia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, India, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Spain, and Vietnam). The sold-out event had 93 people in total attend (57 US institutions) and was very well received by all who attended.
