College Profile

At Fulton-Montgomery Community College, a campus of the State University of New York (SUNY), we are committed to helping our students reach their educational goals. We do this by creating an informal but respectful relationship between students and teachers, a relationship that promotes both learning and personal adjustment to a new environment. Teaching and advising are our most important activities. We are a small institution, and among our 2000 students you will be treated as an individual.

International students find this combination of advantages makes Fulton-Montgomery Community College a good place to start in the American system of higher education. We develop academic foundation and the self-confidence that foreign students need to pursue their studies in the United States. Our Associate Degree programs are equivalent to the first two years of study in a four-year university program.

The transfer concept is a basic component of our system, and when you graduate, you have the possibility of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at an almost unlimited choice of institutions.

Fulton-Montgomery Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, the largest public university system in the world. It is accredited by the Middle State Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and its programs are supervised by the New York State Department of Education.

Testimonials

"I was about to turn 40 when I finally heeded the call for a higher education. Already a folk musician and would-be writer, I sold my kitchen table and chairs to find the funds to send my application to Fulton-Montgomery Community College."
