Adelphi University is a private, liberal arts institution in Long Island, New York with a total enrollment of approximately 8,000 students. Adelphi currently has over 300 international students on campus from 42 countries throughout the world. The campus is safe and elegant, only 45 minutes away from the cultural, educational, economic, and recreational resources of New York City. Founded in 1896, Adelphi is composed of eight schools and colleges including the Honors College, School of Management and Business, School of Nursing, Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies, School of Social Work, and the School of Education. Students may choose from over 40 areas of study and are taught by a distinguished faculty dedicated to intellectual development. Students may choose to live on-campus and receive a meal plan for an additional cost. The University provides a variety of residence hall options including men’s and women’s floors and housing for international students, among others.

Yes. We host an ELS Language Center on our campus. Students can obtain conditional admissions from Adelphi. They will then obtain an I-20 from ELS, and transfer to Adelphi when the complete level 112.
International Student Housing Options
Is on-campus housing available for international students?
Yes, Adelphi offers seven residence halls, located on the Garden City campus, and available to undergraduate and graduate students. Our Office of Commuter Student Affairs keeps a list of available housing in the area for students who choose not to live on campus.

3.0 GPA, 80 IBT TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS or 1500 SAT, personal statement, and a letter of recommendation.

Getting involved is a great way for you to make the most of the Adelphi experience. Take pictures for the Oracle (Adelphi’s yearbook), write for The Delphian (Adelphi’s newspaper), participate in the International Student Society, mentor freshmen students, or volunteer at a soup kitchen.
